FHWA Sponsors Concrete Materials SeminarsTwo new free seminars on concrete materials and pavements will be available for transportation agencies to schedule in their States, beginning in January 2009. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is sponsoring the seminars through a cooperative agreement with the American Concrete Institute (ACI). Topics for the 1-day seminars are Cementitious Materials for Concrete and Chemical Admixtures for Concrete. "This cooperative agreement with ACI will support training activities for FHWA’s customers and partners, helping FHWA broaden and improve the success of the technology transfer activities being performed by its Office of Pavement Technology," says Antonio Nieves Torres, Concrete Pavement Engineer in FHWA’s Office of Pavement Technology. For more information on the seminars or to learn more about hosting one in your State, contact Antonio Nieves Torres at FHWA, 202-366-4597 (email: anieves@fhwa.dot.gov).
