The second Pacific Rim TransTech Conference took place in Seattle, Wash., July 30 through Aug. 2, 1995. More than 900 participants, representing 30 countries, attended this follow-up to the first PacRim Conference in 1993.

The goal of the conference was to encourage the free exchange of new transportation technology among the world's transportation officials. With that in mind, international experts spoke on topics such as trade and transportation, intermodal innovations, and advanced technologies for current and future transportation needs.

Federal Highway Administrator Rodney Slater was the keynote speaker at the opening session. He commended the PacRim participants' spirit of cooperation, and he encouraged the group to continue working together to find innovative ways
of dealing with the world's transportation needs.
