New NHI Facilities Are Ready to Serve You

The National Highway Institute has recently moved to a new location in Arlington, Virginia, just a few blocks from our previous location. Our training rooms and other facilities have been improved and redesigned to accommodate a greater number of students and to serve their needs even better. Please come and visit us when you are in the neighborhood. Instructions on how to get there can be found on our Web page.

New ITS Courses Available
NHI has integrated several Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) courses into its curriculum. To schedule a course, call Lynn Cadarr at (703) 235-0528 or send an e-mail to lynn.cadarr@fhwa.dot.gov.

  • #13601 Intelligent Transportation Systems Awareness Seminar
  • #13602 Deploying Integrated Intelligent Transportation Systems

  • #13617 Shared Resources for Telecommunications
  • #13618 ITS Telecommunications Analysis

Joint Program Office (JPO) Courses

  • #13613 Using the National ITS Architecture for Deployment (This course is for those in the Public Sector who will be designing and preparing Requests for Proposals.)
  • #13614 Using the National ITS Architecture for Deployment (This course is for those in the Private Sector who will be responding to Requests for Proposals.)

New HOV Course Available in January NHI will be able to offer its new course #13372, High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Facilities, early next year. The course will be available in several versions, ranging from one to three days in length and 0.6 to 1.8 CEU Units, depending on your needs. The pilot course is scheduled for late fall 1998. The National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) will publish the accompanying manual as NCHRP Report #414.
