Evaluating Non-infrastructure countermeasures may not be the most efficient use of the resources on this project. My understanding is we are focusing on data and crash analysis to determine infrastructure improvements focusing on the engineering side. The TAC consists of Engineers and as I agree Education, EMS and Enforcement is key, we should keep this project focused on engineering solutions | Possible additional strategy: Graduated levels of B.A.C to define “drunk driving”. Example: B.A.C of 0.08 for standard vehicle/driver, B.A.C of 0.0?? for commercial vehicle/driver, B.A.C of 0.0?? for motorcycle/motorcyclist. It is a State / legislative strategy ……though Feds can favor States (financially) that enact such a graduated B.A.C law, if the strategy is judged by study to be effective | Proposed strategies: Increase corridor enforcement waves (Score 4) Enhance judicial support for DWI citations (Score 5) |
