The radiographic image shows two discontinuities (slab inclusions). The first discontinuity is acceptable and is located at marker A. The second discontinuity is rejectable and located to the right of marker B. The discontinuities are circled for illustrative purposes.

Figure 105 shows a color-coded image created by the P-scan system which includes the C-scan, B-scan, side view, and response amplitude profile of the weld. The vertical and horizontal axes of the C-scan, B-scan, and side views represent weld dimensions in inches. The vertical and horizontal axes of the amplitude response graph are response amplitude in decibels and distance in inches, respectively. The P-scan image also contains a bar graph relating response magnitude to a series of colors. The colors range from red, which indicates a high amplitude response, to purple, which indicates a low amplitude response. The display identifies two acceptable indications. The first indication is located at 63.5 millimeters (2.5 inches) from the datum while the second indication is located at 254 mm (10 inches) from the datum. Note that 1 inch equals 25.4 millimeters.
